I have covered the padded dash in black Alcantara. It's ok. 7 out of 10 for a first effort. On reflection I think the black is too dark and a light blue would be better. Has anyone sprayed the padded rails with rattle cans. Does it last. Or is covering the only way

what!    I can't wait to see the results of you painting a restored shell in emulsion :P

 

I think IronmanG is referring to recolouring vinyl with products such as Vinylkote Formula 40 (other brands are available).

Vinyl dying has been done successfully for many years, so there's no reason why you shouldn't go for it.
