Anyone remember Ryland Rover who used to be on Winwick Street in Warrington?

 

I'm trying to find out anything about them.

 

It was the dealer that supplied my mini on 24th December 1994. Perhaps a Christmas present for a lucky wife. The service book shows the first owner was a Mrs

 

Looking at recent images of Winwick street nothing to suggest they were ever there.

Only Rybrook on the winwick road now. Whereabouts was the Rover dealership? Before my time.

After doing a lot of googling I believe Ryland Rover was part of Ryland Motors which is now known as Rybrook. No idea regarding location.

 

Perhaps the current site of Rybrook is where the old Rover dealer was.

 

The latest images of Winwick Street seem to show a lot of areas that have been demolished and numerous surface car parks so possibly one of those.

They're pretty helpful at Rybrook I'm sure there'll be a longer serving member of the team who was around in the 90s and can assist?

Before becoming Rylands it was Baldwins.

Winwick Rd used to continue straight rather than cranking to the left across the front of Rybrook and joining with Lythgoes Lane, instead it ran through to the "Rodney roundabout" (at the Lord Rodney pub), passing Baldwins on the left, the main entrance was from Silver Lane. Over a fairly short period of time Winwick Rd was re-routed, a rugby ground was built, a Tescos, and Rybrook Jaguar gained the showroom on the old Rylands/Baldwins site.

Howley Racing was also a very short distance down Winwick Rd on Owen Street.
