Well, it's been a bit of an emotional day, finally being reunited with my car.
I'm delighted to say that it was every bit as good as described and I still can't quite believe that it has survived absolutely intact since I last saw it in 1988.
Prior to viewing, I was realistic in my expectation of what I would find; I'd hoped for a original, well presented Mini, but what I've got is something that looks for all intents like a cherished 2 year old car.
The 50 mile drive home was a revelation; 40 bhp means the car is perhaps happiest at 40 mph and it was clearly not built for speed bumps or traffic calming, which is a clear indication of how our roads have changed in the intervening years.
It's REALLY good to have a Mini in the garage once again. I'll share images as soon as I can...
