Hi guys,

I just joined my new engine to my old gearbox and realised I didn't take out those 2 plug like things from my old engine which are on each end of the mating surface of the block to the gearbox.  Are they required, or just their to help line up the engine?  Sorry I don't have a photo because I have already knocked them out of my old block which makes me think I can knock them into the new engine/box from the engine side?

Thanks Brad

They align the engine to the 'box properly to ensure the drop gears are all in the right places.

With all the fasteners loose it should be possible to fit them through from the engine side as they are larger on that end

Some well known engine builders don’t bother with them when using a bigger bolt kit.
