Hi am I doing something wrong.trying to remove my carb, taken air filter of kn type, undone two nuts to manifold but it will not clear the studs hits bulkhead. Think I have bent waxstat trying to prize it of. Any suggestions. Kevin

Undo the engine steady and rock engine forward for abit more clearance.

There is not a lot of room but it is doable the waxstat adding to the fun.Check your engine mounts to see if the engine has sunk down.Welcome to creative fun working on Minis.Steve..

If you're still unable to get it off, I personally find it easier to undo the manifold nuts and remove the whole thing with the manifold included.

What manifold do you have?

As Chris1992 says - Probably easier to remove it with carb attached.

Not sure if you're trying to remove carb & inlet manifold together?

You can use two nuts locked together and remove the manifold studs so it will clear.

Only any good if he has separate inlet and exhaust manifolds though. otherwise you're into disconnecting the exhaust too

Thanks all Think I will undo engine steady and prize engine toward. Had the thing 7 years and still haven't got it on the road, just one thing after another. LoL

Ah yeah that's a good point actually. I've never owned a mini with the original intake/exhaust combo manifold so I sometimes forget they exist!
