When I decided I was actually going to do it but another mini after not owning one for 20years most of my family thought I was mad.

There were comments of you shouldn’t go back wards it won’t be a good as you remember….

We reality is it’s better than it was 20years ago I have the funds to get the car exactly how I want it, and a garage big enough to not only house it but my Jaguar XKR too and I don’t have to use the mini as a daily.

Which means it’s actually just for fun and that is exactly what I have every time I sit in it or drive it.

So if anyone is in any doubt if you should I say do it!!

I came back after a gap of 43 years so you're not alone. Luckily my wife loves them as well.

I’m still trying to win mine over but it’s a massive hit with the kids (8 & 5)

Twenty year break for me too.  As soon as I drove it all those nice feelings returned.  Modern cars are so horrible now I yearned for a return to the days of joy!  Just wish you could still pop to Unipart for most of the parts.

I also had a break of twenty years, although I still had the cars just not used them, so I had to do a couple of restorations, but really enjoy driving them, especially the basic 1962 850, it’s not exactly quick but is so much more involving when driving that it makes driving a pleasure as you have to work at it and plan ahead.

The noise the smell the uncomfortable ride the back ache, chasing the rattles the contortions mending things the money you have to throw at them but what's not to love I couldn't live without mine!

25 years for me and the only problem is the bloomin pain in my knee! I think that’s me though and not the car…

As you say this time around it’s fun, it doesn’t have to get you to work by 7 in the morning in the depths of winter.

The only bit probably miss is the fun that that you could get up to in a Mini when you were 17years old with a “friend” 😉 amazing the space you can create.
