Its beginning to sound like an earth problem.
Have you got rear side lights?
I would clean up the rear earth; I doubt it's two switches conspiring , though you never know with minis.
Good luck

I would stop randomly cleaning things and use a test lamp to truly find what is wrong.A power probe has been mentioned and is an excellent diagnostic tool which will pay for itself handsomely in faulting.
Drastically simple:the electric comes from the battery and rushes through a fuse(or not)then stops at a switch. The earth starts at the battery and hangs around the body creeps through whatever the load(lamp, heater, motor etc) and then waits at the other side of the switch.here you can find whatever is missing and then you have halved the work.
there are some variations as some components are live fed and the switch connects the earth(interior lights?)
Be careful as the battery is very powerful.
A meter is not as useful as there may still be power but insufficient to do any work(think hosepipe with a kink in it,water still comes out but you cannot water your garden).
Find your wiring diagram and study it to see how things work.
Have fun,Steve..

Hi All
Thanks again for all the suggestion and help. Will invest in a electircal probe as I'm sure the old girl will throw up issues in the future.
I have cleaned up the connections and seems to have everything working.
Left indicator does appear to be flicking at double speed so not sure about that. Any ideas?

I think you will find one of your left side indicator lights is out if your relay is flashing faster.
On my cars, it usually the front ones that play up.
Glad you are making progress.
