Some outside of the usual box thinking for this bit of impressive engineering;-

" The TFG is a 2.0-liter twin-turbo three-cylinder that makes 600 horsepower. At 300 horsepower per liter, the TFG's specific output is far higher than anything ever seen in a road car. Koenigsegg says this is "light-years ahead of any other production three-cylinder today," and he's not wrong: The next most powerful triple is the 268-hp engine in the Toyota GR Yaris.

What’s even more unusual is that the TFG doesn't have a camshaft. "

not saying it isn't impressive - but 555.55 BHP per litre ... In 1985,

when Lancia engineers tested an S4 engine under extreme conditions,

it developed around 1,014 PS (746 kW; 1,000 hp) at 5 bars of boost pressure. (1.8 litres )

and to their shock it didn't go pop - they never blew it up

this was with multiple camshafts and 80's tech

the problem is when this current 'hi tech' gets watered down to consumer level a few years later

all the consumer gets is high tech that fails quite a lot , with little gains

ie fiat multiair etc (multiair fails if any dirt gets into oil in valve 'brick')

if the  Koenigsegg was put in a normal car and abused like most modern cars it would die quickly

we need simpler engines that are still powerful , efficient & long lasting

sadly the Japanese seem to have the reliability side of the market
