Hi, can anyone recommend a good repairer as I can only find one company on the web, plus whats the forums view its best to renew rather than repair ?

You can send it to Smiths, they do repair them. Hard to say if it's worth it or not until you get a quote.

I fitted one of these to mine, it replaces the innards and is easy to fit

Speedy cables did a great job on mine, with the benefit of it running on my points system but should I wish to go electronic with a wire change it will work on that as well
