E10 petrol has been available across europe since 2009. My question is really about whether any additive can help counteract the damage to rubber components which E10 seems to be likely to do.

I don't know why there is all this confusion anbout E10. It is still going to be possible to buy E5 and that is fine. Classic car owners will simply use E5 and have no problems.

As others have said, I've only seen the labels being added to the pumps but when challenged, they've said it's all in preparation for when it comes in full force.I don't know why there is all this confusion anbout E10. I asked my normal garage when they are getting E10, they said September. I asked were they getting a super unleaded pump, to which they said no, they do not have a spare tank. Guess I will have to find another garage. Not too much problem near home but could be a PITA on a run somewhere to pull up to fill up only to find no super.

Nope.

"Super Unleaded" as you mentioned will still be E5, which we have been using for god knows how long now.
Quite a few on Facebook are going mad about how their Minis have started running rough and fuel pipes split etc. I wonder if any of those effected with the above issues have actually pumped in E10 or if its just general wear and tear/not serviced/tuned.
I remember when fuel pipes splitting was quite common, now I'd imagine everyone puts it down to the Ethanol...
Burlen are producing "ethanol safe" bits and fuel pipes are more than likely all safe too.
