Hi
I have recently acquired a complete engine/gearbox assembly and I am looking to narrow it down as to what I have actually got.
This is what I have achieved so far.
Engine: Stamped 8G57EP84002 AD (I don't know what the AD denotes) 12A497
1969-81 New or exchange Silver or Gold Seal Unit 998cc Thick Deck Pre A+ Purolator Filter (I reckon)
Gearbox: Stamped 22G1128 SM L MOWOG
4 Speed Syncro with remote Pre 73 (I reckon)
Head: 12A145(6?) I can't see this fully as the pushrod hole intersects it. 29K4 also in casting behind the thermostat. 998cc Standard head pre 73 (I reckon)
Any ideas what particular era or car this would have come from?
Can anyone shed any light on the additional AD on the engine plate? It's nothing to do with A C Dodd, I've already checked there.
It's not seized and is moving freely but will obviously need an overhaul.
Many thanks.
