Evening all, someone must of had/seen this issue before. I have a metro 1275 engine, 65D distributor with vac advance. Started installing a smiths oil pressure gauge, with tee fitting and adaptor, braided Goodrich hose. Ignition timing is set (to what I think is correct). The vac advance unit is right in front of the oil pressure switch port. Which fouls the tee piece, or the switch. It even fouls when I lose the switch completely and just use the adaptor and braided hose straight into the block. Can't really see a way around it... Any ideas?

Check and record the timing, remove the dizzy and then rotate the dizzy drive spindle one tooth.

Re-install dizzy and set timing as it was.

If that doesn’t provide enough clearance rotate another tooth, or go the other way.

Or move the leads around one position in the dizzy cap then re-time.

I used one of these on my Minor when I had the same issue

It replaces the banjo bolt on the feed to the filter and does away with a T piece. Only suitable for earlier engines before 1990 though.

As above,

You can turn the whole dizzy in 90 degree increments, just move the leads to the next post in the opposite direction.

Only thing with Panky's adapter is you'd be measuring pressure before the filter, I think off the main gallery, as standard would give a more reliable indication your engine's happy.

Still good for temp. sensors & relocating pressure warning switches.

Good point, I suppose you could plumb in two gauges to show the differential pressure across the filter if you really wanted to worry yourself ;D

Does not need to be 90 degrees.  It can be one tooth or more.

If you go for the easier option of just slackening the clamp & turning the dizzy you will need to keep to 90 degree steps - same as the cams that open the points (or electronic equivalent).

easy way is to buy a 45 degree angle and nipple screw them into the block and then use the tee for oil and gauge
