Hi everyone, I’m currently building a 1275gt and have just fitted the engine. Does anyone have any idea on how to have a organised looking engine bay as at the moment their are wires and hoses going every which way and I’d like it to look a little nicer

I have seen a couple of videos all over the internet but I can't find one for a 1275GT.

Here are some photos of different stages my engine bay has been in over the years after I fitted my 1275. I cut out the entire bulkhead and welded in a fat piece, and also extended the wiring loom so I could run it under the wings and behind the dash.

I then switched to a single carb

Then while the engine was out being rebuilt I had the bay painted purple and fitted an OBP pedal box to relocate the brake/clutch maters inside the car.

And this is the current state with my new Specialist Components engine. I painted the bay again over lockdown and this time added big metal flake into the clear.

I'm more than happy to help with any questions about hiding away certain components and general tidying!  :D

I am going the opposite way by fitting a turbo and big intercooler to a mini that has servo brakes. I have only just managed to get everything to fit and it’s very busy indeed.

I plan on running the engine harness behind the dash.
