am still playing around with rear light lights, so many  options.......question?   are mk4 light clusters and lenses bigger than Mk2/3?       Only the 1 piece all clear lenses that I manage to get are too big for my Mk2/3 light holders..........and I was thinking without taking out the actual light fitting as to  why they don't fit.

Is it because the clear Mk4 have the reversing bit at the bottom?

Secondly, after wanting to spray tint the clear ones....... am I making a mistake because someone told me they were the rare 1 piece lens called Altissimo?    quite hard to source these days, and if they are I would rather leave them in their original clear condition.

MK2 (no reverse light) are smaller than all the later ones with reverse are bigger. Slightly but you do need the lamp holder as well.

Yep but when fitting MK2 lights to a MK3 or later you can see the line where the rubbers were as they covered more car body.

Mk2 and Mk3 rear lights are the same, only Mk4 with reversing light are larger but fit in the same size body aperture.

The Mk4 rear lights were fitted to Italian Innocenti Minis long before they were introduced in the UK. Most of the UK Mk4 Mini rear light units were made by Lucas but the Innocenti ones were made by Carrello and are now quite sought after and expensive for owners of Innocenti Minis who need them for originalty.
