E10 Fuel And Classic Mini

Has anybody considered upgrading the various components on their classic mini to use the new E10 fuel - I believe it is possible? Has anybody actually had it done? Looks like many of the petrol companies plan to reduce the number of forecourts that will have E5. A bit like the old days of 4* petrol - that became harder and harder to find and then vanished completely. Just thought it would be a good back up plan in case it becomes difficult to obtain.
Queued for hour and a half last week to get petrol and was told only E10 available when I reached the forecourt - despite being told by the forecourt attendant at the beginning of the queue that they had it. Luckily they did have some left and opened up an E5 pump for me.
Thanks guys.

You can use it if desperate. Just top up with E5 when you can or when it's parked up for a while (like winter).

My local Ford dealer has a 4* pump. I spoke to the guys there on Wednesday and it's unleaded with additives that the delivery guys dump into the holding tanks. It's no longer lead but a concoction of chemicals that act like the lead of "days gone by".
One of my Austin A30/A35 colleagues always fills his van (and his other classics) there and he's never had the fuel "go off" like E5/E10 does ..

I’m on my second tank of E10 and my van is running better than it does on Super, not what I was expecting to be honest. I spent the first 50 miles of the first tank waiting for something to go wrong, obviously nothing did. Now I’ve realised that it’s going better. Work that out.

E10 is reported to be hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from the air. Independent of the rubber hose tolerance issues, if left standing it may cause water-based corrosion to tank and carbs.

How long? It's been in France and other European countries for over 10 years. It seems that it's all been blown out of proportion here, and people are just repeating what they've heard on social media. Is your post based on personal experience?

Ethanol is. And it's fractional. So it's fractional of a potential 5% increase. Which by my maths is sod all 😂

My (admittedly) limited running on E10 now shows me that as well as running better, the mpg is within 0.20mpg of Super unleaded, with the E10 just edging it.

Ive not used it yet in the Mini. Im not worried either. If a part gives up the ghost, it was due soon anyway.

While I dont disagree this is probably not the attitude to take with rubber fuel lines that run past an exhaust manifold...

But if the part was due to fail anyway..
