Hi Everyone,

Having tried all sorts of resources I unfortunately wasn't able to find a suitable replacement laygear for my 5-speed gearbox. What I'm looking for is basically any laygear with the splined bore to except (drive) the layshaft for the fifth gear.

The gearbox I'm owning is a very early one and has what is a DAM3169 but with different machining, but I would take what ever I can get hold of even if I would have to change the corresponding gears.

Thank you very much for any hint in the right direction.

Christian

I had this problem a few years ago; when I inspected the original lay gear I found that the spline was actually an insert that had been fitted to a bored out standard lay gear and then welded in place. I got the weld machined away by cutting a `V` groove and then drove the insert out. Then bored out a standard lay gear to suit and pressed in the insert. I didn`t weld it at that point but drilled and tapped holes half and half and fitted grub screws to retain it.

Hope this helps
