This one?

I've fitted one to my Elf project. I've had some issues with getting my shifter to fit, it's a rod change in an unmodified remote tunnel, so there's been some trial and error.  I originally fitted the 'proper' coupler but having had to dismantle it once when things didn't work out I decided to spend the extra cash.  From an ease point of view it's well worth the money, but ultimately how often will you take it apart?  My car isn't on the road yet so I can't comment on any pros & cons while driving if there are any.

I fabricated some myself (https://www.ebay.de/...YoAAOSwOe5ez71p) but fitted one of them only  on the side in the direction of the gear lever. I found the space too tight for fitting the forward one too. I left the split pin there.

I have had one fitted for some time, the only problem I encountered was when I fitted the minispares rod seal kit the rubber bellow dustcover seemed to restrict selecting second gear. the quick release is much easier to fit rather than fitting roll pins, but it depends how often you intend disconnecting the gearchange.

I have the minispares one fitted on mine. Like JXC said I had issues with 2nd gear and I think reverse popping out as soon as my hand was off the shifter if I remember correctly. The rubber dustcover needed to be shortened, although I just removed the cover while trying to work out the issue.

I recently purchased this coupler when I was replacing the rod change oil seal.  I was not able to install the coupler because the holes did not line up.  I tried to modify the coupler with grinding down the length by 1mm.  It still would not fit.  FAILED to install.

I went back to installing original coupler with new role pins.  No problems.

I fitted one as the roll pin fell out one day leaving me stranded. They are expensive, but seemingly worth it.

However my reverse gear does pop out easily; so maybe that’s the cause?

I’ve been running one for 2 years with a mini spares short shift kit.  No problems coming out of gear or interference with the dust cover.
