Description of problem:
Passenger side (n/s) door window is fine fully up and fully down, but is wobbly anywhere in-between. Can be lifted and dropped independently of regulator and drops while driving.
New window door rubbers and all new runners x4 during respray in 2017 and 3 replacement n/s window regulators.
Having just replaced the window regulator for the 3rd time with exactly the same issue, I’ve found that the door window channel rubber is too thin and causing the glass to be lose in the door. Confirmed after adding a strip of foam in-between the door fame and channel rubber on one side. (Not a fun job with the glass still in the door).
When the car was being resprayed (or when I had plans to) I did buy a new pair of door window channel rubbers from a show, can’t remember who from just that it might have been Himley in 2016.
When It came to fitting back up the mini after the respray I had issues with the driver’s side rubber being too tight and being hard to wind up and down, some silicone spray fixed that and has been fine since it’s bedded in.
But when it came to fitting up the passenger side the channel rubber got damaged (ripped) and was later replaced with one off eBay and has been wobbly ever since. But mistakenly put it down to a problem with the regulator/s, as the channels are both new.
For the life of me I can’t remember who I bought the original window channel rubbers from, and normally its people finding the rubbers are too big/windows too tight, not the other way round.
Any recommendations of who’s would be suitable?
