My Haynes manual does not state there is one there. Was this only on later injection cars from Rover?

Not original. The original ones don’t need greasing.

There are some aftermarket Rod Ends that have a Grease nipple on them, the particular one I buy, have them.
All the same, I would not recommend pumping any grease in to them. Mine cop a huge pounding and are still as tight today as when I fitted them, but while tight, they are smooth.
Pumping Grease in will - at best - only displace the boot and make an unnecessary mess.
