I’m having the brake drums soda blasted, they are looking a little dull and corroded. What are your recommendations for surface treatment to keep them looking fresh?

I don’t want to be polishing them in weekly wash. It’s going to be driven.

Paint them.

As above, either paint or laquer them.

Plastic bead blast not soda.

The beads will leave a residue that will protect the alloy.

I once bead blasted a bonnet and discovered a pile of filler so I chucked it on the scrap heap and weeks later it still had no rust.

You just need to sand any panels that are going to be painted.

I just cleaned mine with a brass wire brush, left a dull sheen that has stayed the same for a couple of years so far,
