Can anyone tell me if the pistons are still available for my mg metro engine. They are stamped 20832.

If not what are the alternatives. They are dished ( not sure what cc ) and fully skirted.

There was 2 Compression Ratios in these Engines, yours would most likely be the more common 9.4:1 CR. From memory, these had an 8 and change cc dish.

Off hand, I don't know of any pistons with that size dish and pin height to give that CR, however, if you really wanted that size dish, it's entirely feasible to obtain a set of 6.6 cc dish types and remove some material from them to increase the dish capacity.

Thanks. The engine is from a 1982 model. It has the big valve head and is a high comp.It is on std bore at the moment and the bores are very good. The only problem is the pistons have excessive ring land wear which is a shame as I could have just honed the cylinders and fitted new rings. The limited information I have about these pistons is that they are no longer available.

Apologies here.

The static CR was 10.5:1.

You could obtain a set of flat tops and remove some material from them to get where you'd like to be.
