Hi

 

Can anyone recommend anywhere in Essex that will pop some unleaded valve seats in my head. I have a CAM4810 head and having removed an exhaust valve,  it doesn't look like there is any insert present despite some internet experts stating the CAM4810 is unleaded.

Harris engineering? Any engine specialist can do this work for you

The cam4180 casting did not go unleaded till may ‘89 there were many made before that for years all leaded.

Thurston engineering in Ongar are your closest machine shop, they did a head for me a couple of years ago, I may have an Unleaded head knocking about, I'll have a look today

Thurston engineering in Ongar are your closest machine shop, they did a head for me a couple of years ago, I may have an Unleaded head knocking about, I'll have a look today

Thanks, Yes Thurston did come up during my research and a recommendation is exactly what I was hoping for. But if you do find you have an unleaded head laying about then that could be good too

The ones I have are all leaded type, so a trip to Thurstons is your best bet, they have the small bore valve seats in stock.
