Hey all,

I am restoring a 1275 clubman GT, the engine will be finished at the end of the month and I need to decide on the body paint.

I really want it to standout, im thinking to make it metallic red with some racing stripes (what color tho?)

I would also like to put some other racing decals to make it look like it came from the race track  :D ( but i dont want to over do it) swiftune-1275-gt-mini-clubman-race-car-R

Do you have any ideas?

Post pics if you have any :)

thank you

What about a different kind of two tone:

To stand out you need to be original, red and black isn’t.

That comes down to personal taste, does it not? It sounds like you need to google 'red car' and pick one ;-)

Mazda has a super nice red now that always catches my eye. I think it is something like Soul Red Crystal Metallic. Might be a nice modern twist that would surely grab attention.

Be brave, be different!!

If red is the final answer, lay the red top coat over a black first coat. Deepens the colour. Then a load of lacquer to deepen the effect even more!!

If you're still looking for ideas...

It's a classic mini clubman with badboy alloys, it'll stand out either way.

My suggestion is old english white with a black roof and black bonnet. Black bonnets are cool and if anyone asks you can say it's for the glare, also Mr Bean had a black bonnet and that man is the OG. Add a big black circle on the door with "69" in it, or any other random number. Think about go-faster stripes because they make you go faster (scienti-fikarry pruven).

By toning down with pastel colours you'll still be able to use it as a daily and bask in the glory of envious looks.
