I have wanted a mini for a long time and for a month or so I have now owned one.  I have a 1992 mini cooper and today is coincidentally it's 29th birthday. It is not concourse and it is not a rust bucket but it is usable (do I sound like a used car salesman yet).

I have a number of things that I would like to get done to it, but there is plenty of time.  For now I want to get it on axle stands for the winter  but am a complete mechanical beginner so will probably be asking lots of questions.  I am looking forward to getting out an about to lots of mini shows and immersing myself in the mini scene.  Please be patient with me, currently I cannot even get the rear sub frame to sit on the axle stands correctly.

Thank you all for the warm welcome.  The haynes manual is already purchased, it just needs to get wrapped and I need to act surprised when I open it.

Looking at new wheels as they ones that are on it are in a poor state.  Then sell the existing wheels.  I have 4 WIPAC's on order as well.

The axle stands and trolley jack are also purchased will be going in place very soon!
