Just wondered if anyone has any feedback on the Jonspeed self build engine kits and the Mini Spares ready built half engines.

I purchased the Minispares/Bill Richards 1293 short engine, this was fitted by Mill Road Garage who removed the old engine / gearbox, took off the cylinder head and ancillaries, then fitted the new engine and gearbox along with skimming the head.

The engine / gearbox have covered about 5,000 miles now and are running beautifully.

 

Mill Road Garage/Minispares and Bill Richards were all excellent after a problem with the reconditioned gearbox was identified, between themselves they removed the engine/gearbox repaired the fault and then reinstated and tuned the engine all at no additional cost to myself.

Thanks for getting back.....that was good service. I don't think i have heard a bad word about Minispares.

The Minispares engines are good, I haven't used them but haven't heard anything bad about them.

Just make sure you use good quality gaskets where you can

Think the Jonspeed name has moved on since it was started ... google search might throw some light on them
