Has anyone tried it? is it any good? can you squeeze power out of the car with this?
or is it just a gimmick. currently running 65D

There's many who run the 123 and like them, there's a version available that you can tailor your own curve with via laptop or smart phone. Be aware though that caps and rotor buttons for these can be at times a little hard to find.
There's another company, CSI how also make similar distributors, but are based on the Lucas 45D and 55D range, so caps and buttons aren't an issue and they look perfectly original. The models in these that have fixed curves are well suited to the A Series engine, they have an option on all of these with a De-mobilise and also other programmable models that also have a de-mobilser in them.
For what ever it's worth, I've been running a CSI for ten years now. It's been through hell and high water, never missed a beat.

It won't give more power than an actual engine can produce.

But it can produce the power that an engine actualy has.
I use a CSI unit on my tuned 1293, and selected a curve that made a difference to what the standard distributor gave as it suited the build better.

i run a csi from swiftune,
i think it made loads of difference, running curve 15, got it rolling roaded at southam,, goes like a stabbed rat.
