The subject line says it all. Due to MOT rules i Sweden I would have to limit the power of my future Mini 1275 turbo engine to 125 hp. The design should be "tamper proof" i.e. not easy to improve the power at the roadside. What is the best road to go? Smaller turbo than the popular 1752? No IC? Low performance exhaust manifold? I am open for all suggestions.

Just limit the boost using the waste gate if you fit one that canโ€™t be adjusted on the fly then it should be fine.

basically this, as long as you don't have an in line boost adjustment you should be fine, although i belive on race cares they have a seal on the actuator adjustment, a bit like the anti tamper wire seals on electrical boxes

Run actuator pressure

Thank you all. A sealed wastegate seems to be the best way to go.

Krister what is limiting it to 125? As I am sure SilverBulit has more than that with his Twinc head conversion.

might be an idea to drop him a message.

Yes, I can register the car as "tuned" if the power is not more than 126 hp. Then I do not have to do any changes of the car (execpt the engine and front disk brakes). Next step is "modified" when I have to change engine and brakes and transmission and have a special MOT. Fitting a Honda in an Allspeed subframe and change the wheels to 13" and mount 8.4"brakes would be a way to be accepted as "modified". The last level is "self built car" like a Z car but you have to design it yourself. "Kit cars" are not allowed.

My aim is to register as a "tuned" car with 125 hp. That is why I search for a "small" turbo alternative. Whould GT1544 or GT1548 be a good idea?

Correct the rules are very different to the UK. While the actual test is not bad there is much paper work for changes. I was just not aware of the power increase limits.

Germany is another whole ball park. The UK is (was) very lax on controlling the Mods you could do but I see there are changes.
