My spi mini's heater pack resistor broke while cleaning.
The same one is on sale at Mini Spares, but the price is too high.
I did some temporary soldering but no ceramic covering over the coil.

Is there any way to apply something similar to heater pack resistor but relatively cheap?
Thank you for your help.

I think you could press one off any car in to service, or you could look for a 12v motor speed controller that uses PWM.

Did your SPi come with a dual speed heater or did someone add that? I thought only MPi cars had the 2-speeds fitted as standard.

I had the same problem. Couldn’t track a replacement down so I found this instead. I de-soldered what was left of the old resistor coil and soldered this resister to the 2 terminals that were left via via 2 wires. Then drilled 2 small holes on the heater casing and mount the resistor to the inside of the casing keeping it in the air flow of the fan to keep it cool. This way it keep all the original wiring and plugs.

Just found this, I guess in this case you are paying for the originality
