I've had a search but can't find an answer. So the question is, can a 998 A+ slot drive oil pump fit a Pre A+ 1098 engine? I've read there are different bolt locations? Can they be modified to fit if not?

It's so an A+ cam (minispares evo1) can be fitted to the 1098 block (I guess fitting an A+ cam into a Pre A+ is doable)

Cheers Alex

The pump you fit is defined by the drive on the cam. That is the only defining point.

There is another defining point, that being a small or big bore pump.

There was some small bore blocks late 60 / early 70s that were drilled and tapped for 4 bolt fixing (they had these with the spider drive pumps) for which the bottom 2 holes should line up and just the top one needing to be drilled & taped if going to a 3 bolt pump.

 Cheers mate, I think thats what I read on a few threads just couldn't get a definitive answer. we can drill and tap that easily then if required.  The unused holes wouldn't need blocking up if they are through holes would they?

There's no need to plug them up, they are (or should be) blind holes.
