Body Shell On Its Side?

I hope this makes sense.
Having just moved and from loads of space to a tiny single garage, she made me do it, I will have to try and get the body shell into the back garden to work on it in one of those machine mart garage type tents.
The only way it will fit through the space is if I roll it onto its side, it is a rusty old shell and needs a lot of work, but my dilema is if I roll it onto its side and put it on some sort of dolly, most probably a couple of pallets on coasters do you think this would screw up the the shell and make it distort. I could of course weld in some bracing as described in lots of the posts and will probably have to do that anyway for some of the panel replacements.
I just don’t have room in the single garage because it is full of her moving junk so at this time a rotisserie which was what I was going to get is not an option.
So on its side would or could it screw up the body shell please.
Kind regards
Ian

Not speaking from experience but well braced it should be OK but I'd take the engine and interior out to loose some weight, you'll also need plenty of padding (old mattress?) to prevent damage to the body panels and plenty of help and more packing to stop it flipping over onto it's roof. Just a thought, will it be coming out the same way once the restoration is complete? Seems a bit risky to roll a nice new shell on it's side
Might be better if you put the wife's junk in the Machine Mart tent. Make it all nice with net curtains and a carpet and she won't be able to resist

Brace it first. Then get an old mattress and a fire extinguisher.

Brace the hell out of the car first. Tie in some diagonals as well just for extra rigidity.
I box in, so A post to A post, A post to B post, B post to B post, B post to A post. I then do another brace directly over the floor crossmember and then add two drop downs to the crossmember and tack weld them.

I sat her down last night and gave her a bloody good talking too, told her what’s what and shared your kind suggestions.
She looked at me and I think her reply involved a jolly good bracing as well, but don’t think she meant the car.
So it looks like I am garden bound.
Harsh very harsh.
Thanks for all the advice it is so helpful.
Cheers

The rolling on the side bit is to just get it through the side gate, it is already an empty shell, so the cunning plan was:
1. Roll it on its side onto like some suggest an old mattress which will be on top of something like a pallet on wheels or some other flat rolling device. Push it through the side gate then set it up properly for the work, loads of room in the back garden. It’s just to get it through the gate, nothing more.
2. Get a divorce.
Mind you I never knew mini ownership would enhance my sex life. I keep banging on about the mini, mini, mini all the time according to her and last night she said “Brace yourself”. I thought this must be foreplay. Oh how wrong I was.

Yup this is only to do the cutting, grinding and new panels, then back on its side through the gap then I can use the drive in front of the garage, I will have built the carport by then.
