Hi
My 1960 Morris Mini Minor has a mechanical AC fuel pump. My numbers check out but I can’t find any references to mechanical fuel pumps before 1969. The car looks completely unmolested/original Any info appreciated.

Hi Jon, sounds like a good very early car you have there. It’s almost certain that an electric SU pump would have been fitted as standard and most probably it would be a PD type which was later replaced by a SP type in 1961, with a higher fuel delivery rate.

I guess it would be worth checking the wiring loom for any clues of redundant wires - and doubly so if you intend to reinstate an electric pump.

Best I can find, the 850 retained an electric Pump, as eric67 mentioned above, up until October 1969. They then went mechanical.

I suspect you have a later engine, but the engine number plate has been changed for the original.
