Hi all,

I have searched around but I can seem to find anything on this area, mostly for the door step or A post area on the door opening but nothing for the top.

I need to replace the top of the door aperture/opening/frame or whatever you wish to call it. See attached photo.

Am I correct in assuming that from the factory the outer gutter is the same panel? That is, if I can undo the spot welds (which are very hard to see) on the underside of the gutter this whole piece can be taken off (once its sliced at the tops of the pillars obviously)?

Its just a very small amount of area to try and weld along under the gutter if I cut the whole piece out, and having the gutter off will also make repairing the small hole in the roof edge that has allowed the water in in the first place.

Yes the door aperture and roof gutter are part of the same panel.

Just to mention the side panel won't be spot welded to the roof gutter, they were roller welded originally which is like a continuous spotweld.

I would just cut as much of the panel back as you can and then grind it back on the roof edge (without going through) as its not going to be possible to drill it out

Ahhh that would be why I can't find any obvious spots to drill! Thanks for that, will have to rethink the plan a little
