I'm changing the coolant in my mini 35 and wondered if any one has used the Halfords OAT Ready Mixed Antifreeze in their cars or what's a better alternative

I believe the stuff you mention is made by Comma. However I'd just go to my local garage or motor factors, it usually works out cheaper long term including the fuel to go there and home.
For what it's worth it actually depends what material your radiator is made from as the wrong antifreeze will soften or corrode the solder in the radiatior I believe.

What I usually do is buy 5 litres of concentrated antifreeze and dilute myself 50/50 with water
Just my thoughts

Just the standard blue ethylene glycol is fine with a standard rad. Cheap from discount stores, or with euro car parts discount etc.

I use Bluecol diluted 50/50.

It's the one that needs changing every two years.

This is the blue version and not their clear Universal version

Car Plan Blue Star is also made by Tetrosyl who make Bluecol. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same stuff.

I am pretty sure the OAT anti freeze isn't compatible with the existing anti freeze and the cooling systems seals and can cause leaks. Stick with blue Glycol based antifreeze and change it every 2 or so years

Seals will be fine, it's the radiator and heater matrix that causes issues
