Buy the best you can afford and if it’s the wrong red, that’s a bad sign straight away.

Does it matter that the steering wheel isn't original, it has a walnut dash and other things changed that make it and rsp? My thoughts are if your paying rsp money (I'm guessing roughly 12k) then you want an rsp as original. As it goes the one i went to view has a small dent in the drivers door, the red appeared darker that other red mini coopers the air filter as originally stated a torn seat. Not too bad although i wasnt able to put the choke in the car just died if i did and the car underperforemed im guessing they are both related. This one was 11k
That's a John Cooper signature Mota-lita, I have the same wheel in my RSP and they are very nice to use and were sold from Cooper Garages in the 90s so it's a period correct modification. I still have the red RSP wheel but it was going pink from sun bleaching and the Mota-lita was a birthday present from my wife in 1998 when I bought the RSP. If you don't like it I'm sure someone would bite your hand off for a swap because they ain't cheap! https://www.cooperca...ring-wheel.html
Unless originality is a big thing for you I wouldn't be too fussed about changes to the car as Mini's have always been modified and the RSP parts can be ferreted out over time if you so wish. It's the body work condition which should be the top consideration as that is the most difficult and expensive to fix.

The correct air box is rocking horse poo but most other parts are easy to source.
