Dad and I are rebuilding an engine at the moment. Dad dropped off the gearbox for reconditioning to John Guess in Rugby on 17 December and he's been unable to get in touch with him ever since. It seems that some of his phone numbers are no longer working, he's not replied to any emails or messages sent via this forum. Dad even went to try to visit him (more than a 3 hour round trip from where we live) at his unit on Wednesday, but he wasn't there.

We're worried that we're never going to see the 'box again.

Has anyone been in contact with him in recent weeks? If so, do you know what's happening?

Thanks in advance!

Ed

John is a good guy…. I’m sure it’s been an over sight. FB messenger is a good way as Nicklause mentioned

And don’t forget he has 2 units and does go out delivering and collecting stuff. He has just picked up a surface grinder to do custom idler shims etc.

No matter how good your product is, you still need to answer your emails and phone, especially when you’ve taken money or peoples parts.

A quick email or call takes a minute

I had to chase him to get a flywheel puller delivered.  The puller is excellent but having to chase him and getting excuses will make me look elsewhere in the future if there's a choice.  I would quite like some of those Japanese sealed balljoints that he was selling but wonder if it'd be less hassle to order them from Japan!

I have ordered a few sets of his sealed ball joints and he's always a pleasure to deal with. I have phoned him up to order as his website wasn't updated with stock level but a quick call and they have always been with me within a day.

I think his service is great, he always answers technical questions and is a helpful chap.
