I know this has been discussed but still confusing about it. Many say the seal should be level with the outer edge like I did in the first picture, but I took a lot of reference on D3Sshooter's youtube video

and he actually hammer it 2 or 3 mm deeper, please kindly advise if I should do it like D3Sshooter did, thanks a lot!

How you have the outer is correct, though many new hubs have too much lead in taper, so they need to be pressed in a wee but more.

If you have a look here;-

https://www.theminif...wheel-bearings/

there's a factory section drawing of the hub showing the fitted location of the seals.

All too often, when pulling hubs down, I find the inner seal is pressed in way too far, so ends up doing nothing.

If possible I like to position it so it is running on an unmarked section of the shaft.Gives me the impression it may make a better seal as I always seem to have a groove where the old seal ran.Make your own judgement before following this,Steve..

Thanks Spider! I think for the inner seal you cannot really push too deep with the spacer ring there right? This is my inner seal, please advise thanks again!

No problem !

Yes, that's right.

I mention it because the spacer for the inner seal was only fitted by the factory for a few years.

Straying a bit here but when I do hubs for others, if they don't have seal spacers, I make them and fit them in both sides, so hopefully, if they are done by someone further down the track, they should get the seals back in the right place. For a very short time, the factory also fitted spacers on the outside as well, these are thinner than those fitted to the inner.
