Ben

No I had to make sure I wasn't imagining it the other day,

I did manage to find one of my replacement wings which is a genuine one so I'll bung that in with the doors, no idea where the other wing is though sill be furraging tomorrow.

I have now made a start this afternoon.

First job was to remove the anti drum

Come off easily with a bolster and lump hammer

Next job is to remove the front end. It's being changed and will be in the way for the flitch repairs

And then i went round removing the remains of the wings and front panel.

And then onto the rotisserie

Panels are ordered so I can soon get on with those.

Cheers.

Quite a thing to see your own mini having the Ben O treatment after watching on other people's progress threads. I'm going to enjoy this one I hope

Whilst waiting for the panels to show up, I started cutting off some of the panels to be replaced.

Starting with the left outer sill

There is some corrosion on the bottom edge of the flitch so that will go too

I'm going to need to replace a section of the front floor pan too so I marked out what I needed to remove

And then cut it out

And then cleaned it up

I was waiting to see something yucky hiding away somewhere .

I guess the rest of that floor pan is ok?

Yeah, there is grot in places but as its not been tampered with really in the past, it's all pretty straightforward.

The rest of the floor is spot on.

There is a few small areas in the other front pan but not sure if it's going to require replacement yet until I clean it up.

Cheers

I guess that is to be expected though, I had kept the shell in the garage and the unit for the duration so it was away from the elements essentially.

Glad your having the mini restored. I remember it for sale not long ago on Facebook. Glad it's in the hands of Ben really solid shell.
