Swapped Lights For Leds

I have recently replaced my indicator bulbs for LEDS...I also installed a new flasher designed for LEDS. however I have a bit of an issue
the issue I have is a weird one and involves the indicators
I have a 1972 mk3 mini
I have installed the new flasher unit and I replaced one bulb at a time to make sure it worked before I moved on to the next.
the front ones were fine. but as soon as I put the back ones in and hit the indicator to turn left all 4 light up like hazard lights which I don't have.
If i indicate to the right the right one works but both back ones come on.
I can only get indicators to work if I only replace the front bulbs with LEDS
if you have any ideas what to look for I welcome your advice

Classic LED sell a diode set for about 6 quid or something. As I had bought my LEDs from them they sent it out free of charge

thanks for that. I bought mine from them too. so we're yours doing the same thing ?Ye i had to do that.

So I've just done this on my 69 Elf project & had similar issues. Check all your earths, that seemed to be my issue. Specifically it was the bundle of earths that mount to the speedo body. I haven't put any resistors in the system and the system works correctly with either a filament bulb or LED in the dash.

You'll probably need a load resistor since the LEDs pull less current than the old bulbs. Look Here. https://www.superbri...erflashing/275/

Its the diode harness kit.
Similar. Hazards worked fine but individual indicators didn't. I rang them up he said it was because they need such a tiny current to work it could draw it through the central indicator warning light

It sounds to me that the Earth for the Rear Right is dodgy, but check them both.
It may be the Earth in the fitting itself, not necessarily the Earth Wire.

I did notice the earth in front drivers side was a bit cruddy as the LED flickered until I gave it a bit of a clean. Will check the backs as well...not keen on ripping the dash out just to put indicators in the rear....all the others are fine.. brakes rear lights and head lightsIt sounds to me that the Earth for the Rear Right is dodgy, but check them both.

Always seems counter intuitive to me,fit low power LED then add resistors to up the power again. What do I know eh?,Steve..
I run LED everything, except the headlights.
For the Indicators, I don't fit resistors, but just use an LED Flasher Can.
But, even so, there is I think a considerable difference between incandescent lamps and LEDs in their light up time, can be a life saver in regards to brake lights.

The wiring for the indicator warning light is likely to be causing this sympathy flash issue.
It is likely to be wired between the left and right hand circuit and does not have a dedicated earth so earths on the opposing side.
The current that goes over to the other side to find earth is not enough to light incandescent lamps but is enough to light LEDs and cause this "sympathy flash".
You can check that it is this wiring that is causing the issue, by removing the lamp from your indicator warning light.
You should then find that the indicators work properly.
To fix the issue permanently, you need to isolate this lamp from the opposing circuits and provide an earth for it.
We build a harness kit as a simple cure. You need the negative earth version which will be back in stock later this week
