I am also learning off me Uncle. Hes a classic car ethusiast and restorer but never owned a Mini before, yet pretty much sussed it all already. Does complain about the lack of space in the engine bay tho lol

Love the engine colour, well done with all of the work you done very good for a first timer, hope I can be that good someday. Prefered you keep the car blue but thats just my tastes

edit: What alloys you got on there?

Thanks for your comment Martin :withstupid:

There 10x6 Revolutions.

I did like the blue, but it wasnt a brilliant paint job, and there were loads of scratches ect, always loved black minis, so thought id go for a change

Thanks joe :)

Yeah there Brace bars, you have to have them in replacement of inner wings.

bout 35 quid or something from mini spares. Might be wrong on price, but they deff sell them.

Saying that, they didnt fit very well at all!, we had to cut the end plate off where it bolts onto the subby then bolt it all in place, then re weld it!

You need them to pass the MOT!

Dave :)

Afternoon..

Lots of progress..

Got the car back round my uncles the other week, got right into it, cleaned up / sorted out the loom, put the clutch and flywheel on, then today we put the engine it ;)

got the manifold on, and the carb, and aload of other little bits.

My uncle sorted out an alarm for me, a serious one so hopefully ill never loose it  *touches desk*

Gotta go and get some heater hose tomorow, and find a few other bits, clean em up then they can go on. Then ive also gotta make a final decision about seats, so i can buy them, then decide where there going, then decide where the adj rear brake bias valve is going to go, (prob down by the handbrake)

:xxx:

Hello

Got some pics finally...

Posted Image

thats not the most uptodate pic, all the lights are done now, alarms also in and finished.

Ordered my seats yesterday, coubeau forzas in black cloth, gunna make some mounting brackets, so we can get it as low as poss, in the perfect postion for me, so ill proberly be sitting in the car for a ges makeing brum brum noises trying to decide wheres guna be best :( :o

ordered some 10cm speakers to go in the dash too. both dash rails are back on now too.

Also long story short, we aquired a 1990 mayfair, so i took rear chorme opening quarter lights off it :ghost: rear lights (one of mine is cracked) steering coloum cluster off it, one hilogen headlamp lol (other was smashed) erm, rear heated window (spare) and couple of other bits ive forgot. the cars now been donated to the local minicross man!

Getting there

Keep the comments comming :w00t:

Dave ;)

lol thanks !

ermmmm, perhaps fitting the new sill.. not so much becuase it was the hardest, but the most anoying/unconfortable, having to cut the cover one off, then sort out the rotton one underneath, then weld the new one on, when my welding was still in the early stages!! also reparing the tops of the inner wings....basically all the welding lol as im not very good at it, bit better now tho! lol

cleaning all the engine parts was also pretty boring, getting them emaculatly clean, then cleaning all the bolts individually :(

Im pretty sure its normal dulux house paint! the colour was just some my uncle had left over from something hid painted, cant remeeber now, actualy i think it was a mix of the old mini blue, and something else.

Dave

keep em coming

Getting annoyed now :@ ordered my seats from halfords, monday will be the last day of the time scale they said it would take, and im seriously not holding my breath for them to turn up. went in today and asked them to chase it up.

Anoying as the seats are whats holding me up from finishing the damn car!
