When i last bought an oil filter the Unipart GFE448 was the norm.

I know i could just buy one from Mini Spares but i don't really "MiniSpares" emblazoned on it for a more standard low key look.

I think the Bosch P2056 is a good equivalent. Does anyone use these on here?

What are compatible part numbers for other makes of oil filters that work on the pre-injection cars? My Haynes manual does not list the spin on spec's.

Thx. Can't seem to find one of those here in Canada without having to pay 2x-4x the price in shipping.

I know of people that paint them to match the engine colour. A bit of a faff but would give you the low key look…

I'm sure (from memory, I may be wrong) it's a 3/4 inch thread, the MPI has a larger thread

Thanks. Found the NAPA Gold 1374 locally. A bit pricey at $20, but I get 10% off with my auto club membership.

That works out at £16.24, pricey but if its all you can find locally then go for it. Plus $20 is cheaper than an engine and gearbox rebuild

There were some other brands on the lists  that seemed to come up at places like Walmart and /amazon for about half that price, but hearing others state the NAPA Gold as being used on their Mini seals it for me.

I always use known brand parts especially when servicing an engine. If you get a recommendation then go for that than anything else

$20 for a filter is robbery. You can get them for 1/2 that or less on either amazon or eBay. I prefer Wix, Mann or Baldwin. A friend is an A & P mechanic and uses a Baldwin on his airplane engine, a pretty good endorsement. Additionally, ‘FleetFilter’ is a website that sells name brand oil filters at a reasonable price.
