Hello,
15+ years ago I moved to Belgium, and the day I arrived saw this car I had never seen before.. A mini!
It was love at first sight!
15 years later, I finally got the opportunity to buy my dream car!
It was a British Open from 1995, with a lot more work than expected.. There was a lot of rust, and by a lot, I mean A LOT!
So after the happiest drive of my life(the only drive I did with my mini), I started taking it appart. To do a full restauration of it.
Once everything was appart, I started ordering the pannels and things that needed replacement.
Untill now, everything goes well. The only issue is that I have quite a busy job and 3 children. The amount of time I can spend working on the car is very little(1 to 4 hours a week).
So... Modern problems, require modern solutions!
A few days ago I bought a Mini Cooper MPI from 2000 (40th anniversary). In very very good condition.
It has been repainted 5 years ago.
Engine has been revisited.
It has a S Works Conversion
Interior has been redone..
So now I can drive happily in a mini, while I take my time to finish the british open!
I only want to do some "small" modifications on the cooper before I'm happy:
12" Superlight Rims (Mat Black with red rim)
LED headlights
Fletcher DTM Exhaust
K&N induction filter
New radio(JVC) with bluetooth
Spax Absorbers with adjusta ride
8.4" Brake kit (red) with alloy calippers (front)
Superfin drums (back)
And thats about it I think!(for now.. hehe)
After all of that is done, I will continue on the British open..
It will stay as original as possible.
So it will be a challenge..
Luis!
