Hi there

My mini has a weird engine number, the prefix is 12H687. I know it is an A+ based on the dipstick hole and distributor support hole.

The mini is a 73' 1275GT based on the chassi number. I know that it is not the original engine, since the A+ engines only started to appear near the 80s right?

Anyone knows anything about this prefix? I couldn't find anything apart from some forum claiming it is a 1275 block.

Thank you in advance

It would appear that the number is from a 1275GT, but if that's the original number to the block, then it would have come from a very late (round mid 79 or after) 1275GT.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll wait and see if somebody has something to add to it.. nevertheless I guess they are rare? Very strange..
