Iโ€™m sure this is the least interesting question ever but my rebuild has stalled on the sticky question about how to get some putty to install the door window winders.

3 Years ago when I started the project and removed the winders I balled up the old putty but itโ€™s now in the 5th dimension somewhere!

Has anyone replaced their putty and what did they use?

Apologies for this somewhat stupid question, as I am tending to think that blue-tack might well do.

Thanks in advance. ๐Ÿ‘

I'm planning on using some "Denso tape" when I fit mine again.

It's body caulking. It used to be available in packs like plasticine, don't know if it still is.

A much less messy solution I came up with and easier if you ever have to remove the regulator in the future for whatever reason (itโ€™s a mini nothing is ever fit and forget) was to use d profile door and window draft excluder stuck to the regulator.

I used this stuff to seal virtually every joint during my Morris Traveller resto. I think it will do the job for you and a great price too

I also used it behind the door latch mechanism to stop it vibrating against the door. (the long metal part)
