So basically the clutch was replaced, but at the same time I had the inlet and exhaust manifolds off so I could lift the engine up to replace the mounts. Everything was cleaned and put back and the engine does start every time I turn the key. Problem is it immediately goes to about 3k revs and creeps up to 4K. I’m pretty sure I can hear an air leak coming from underneath the brake servo area above the clutch housing near the breather?
The car is 1999 MPI.
Anyone got any thoughts?

Sounds like you have a leak as you say.

Can you think of anything that would leak in that area?

So update. I had routed the throttle cable incorrectly causing it to be too tight on the manifold. It now reva about 900rpm which is fine but it hunts a little now. Could an air leak at the brake servo vacuum line into the manifold cause this?
