Ive looked around the net and theres quite a few to choose from but all seem quite bulky apart from the silverline one which is very slim.
Are all the belts the same size across the board?

I saw the title of this thread and initially thought "my grinder and flap disc does a good job of sanding my fingers when not careful"

Not had a problem getting them. Think they are 13mm x 475mm . Get them from screwfix, amazon and ebay.
Guess it will depend on what size you are looking at, i do believe there are smaller ones

Ive got my eye on the same one but also looking at an air one but that means a compressor which I haven't room for.

What I found with my belt sander is the importance of the sanding belts. I went from the cheap ones which came with the machine to Klingspor and finally to 3M Cubitron and still can't believe what differences I saw. With the cheap ones I was close to not use the belt sander any more. The Klingspor ones were much better with regards to grinding capabilities and service life but would rip easily. Finally, following a recommendation from a friend in the trade, I tried the 3M Cubitron (the violet ones) and while being much more expansive, they are of a different league. The service life is very good and while they don't tend to rip at all, I started to keep used belts for occasions where I would not need to remove much material (and only ever buy 60 grid).

Will try some of the posh belts mentioned if I can source them as I can see me going through a lot!

I use a Makita mains powered one. It's a great tool when you need something like that. Good to hear 3M make belts, worth trying once I run out of Makita ones.
