Hello,

I would appreciate some help with the following:

I have the above model vehicle which was imported into NZ approx 12 years ago. The NZ regs only allow for two of the four front fog lights to be operating at once to get a WOF (Warrant of Fitness) therefore the two centre lights of the four lights have been disabled. I do not have a handbook for the Japanese model, however I have a pdf copy of the UK model which does have some differences compared to the Japanese model - for example, my Mini has a separate fog light button on the right hand side of the dash (see pic) which is not shown in the UK manual which turns on the two outside fog lights on (the two centre lights do not operate as I assume they have been isolated due to he NZ WOF requirements)

When I turn on the fog light button in the centre dash - see the attached photo, this on turns the red backing fog light at the rear of the Mini. I would appreciate to know what is the correct fog light button functions for the Japanese Rover Mini Copper relating to the front fog lights and also the rear read backing light? Cheers

AFAIK as standard, to comply with Japanese law, the outer 2 fog lights should only come on when the dipped beams are on and can be turned off/on manually with the green-illuminated switch on the dash. When you flash the lights or apply main beam, the outer fogs turn off and the inner 2 spot lights come on. These will always be activated with the main beams, no manual switch. The rear fog light should turn on when you press the orange-illuminated switch on the lower dash. It should not be connected to the front fogs.

In UK model cars, the rear foglight will only turn on if dipped headlights are on.

This may be different for JDM cars.
