I've seen boil overs several times at normal temps: from failed pressure caps and pinholed header tanks.

Though the water temperature gauge gives a 'Normal' reading, there are 'hot-spots' in the system where the water will boil. Same thing happens in your electric kettle. It will bubble long before the entire contents are 'boiling'.

A 'pressure cooker', on the other hand: "The science behind pressure cookers is impressive but surprisingly simple, achieved by the boiling point of water being dependent on pressure. As the pressure increases, so does the boiling point of water."

Attached is a photograph of the effects of a pinhole in a header tank, which caused boilovers after shutting the engine down. The bubbling overwhelmed the pressure cap. Replacement tank cured the problem, no head gasket issue.

Alright, so I've ran the compression test (with a cold engine, all plugs removed) and the results are as following:

Cylinder 1: 195 psi

Cylinder 2: 185 psi

Cylinder 3: 195 psi

Cylinder 4: 180 psi

Little deviations, which in general is good, right? Are these readings up to par?

Thanks again for the input everyone.
