Hi everyone, thanks for taking a look. I have included a photo or two to show what i’m looking for - perhaps a panel piece or advice on how to do it myself.

I’ve got a corbeau revolution seat and I’m finding the shoulder wings don’t want to fit inside the door pillar literally by 1CM when the chair is mounted half way on top of the exhaust tunnel - having looked I’ve discovered some people have made exhaust cut outs to get the seat down and allow it to be floor mounted with enough clearance for the door I brought the seat having seen many professional/club racers using them and I’m thinking this exhaust tunnel alteration might be a common thing or potentially a panel I can buy. Could anyone give me some advice or some more photos of what they have done to solve the issue perhaps?

Also having made the exhaust tunnel modification what happens to the exhaust after that?

this seems to be the only picture I can find of a solution but I can not find more information on it

many thanks in advance.

I personally would buy another seat that fits.Race cars are not road cars and have different constraints.Boring I know but altering the shell can in some circumstances lead to a less than satisfactory outcome. These circumstances are unlikely to happen but the potential is there..Steve..

looks to me like they just cut half the tunnel out and fabricated replacement panels to close it off in that way.  not massively complicated if you get cutting and use cardboard templates to work out

my questions would be, what thickness of plate should be used and is there any extra bracing on the underneath that we can't see

as stated though probably best to avoid it as unnecessary when there's other options that don't need such things to be done

I fitted a pair of Corbeau Revolution seats in mine with no real issues, though I did have to offset them as they wouldn’t fit exactly side by side.
Are they a standard width? Or is it possible you have a wider version?
Phil.

@Turbo Phil could you send me some pictures of your set up please - I have found out that Corbeau themselves do a restricted area Mount for them that is used by the mini guys (and I rang corbeau to find out and they said it’s a certain set that don’t need anything cutting out) i would LOVE to be able to know if there’s any space or what the offset is in your car for the side by sides - I’ll be running an XL driver and a L passenger ideally.

[email protected] or mrminiman90 on Instagram if you’d prefer to keep tech talk and pictures of your car off this thread.

I was literally thinking about an hour ago if I could get 2 in and wondering who to ask a low and behold last time I checked on the 15th you hadn’t posted and now a here you are! LEGEND!
