Attached File  Fan.jpg   49.35K   0 downloadsHi All

Replaced radiator, water pump, and pipes and fan last year, but car has been off the road with other issues.

Just got it back up and running and its overheating again.

Only went out for a short run and heating guage went to the red very quickly.

Checked to see if the radiator was full and nearly was so topped up.

Im not sure if i have put the fan on the wrong way round???

Any ideas???

The fan looks right way round.  Maybe sticking or broken thermostat?

Have you any signs other than the gauge that it is actually overheating?,Steve..

If the "heating guage went to the red very quickly", I would suspect a thermostat stuck shut.

Run it up to just above normal, shut down and check the top hose. Is it hot?

If not, confirms thermostat problem.

Liberally coat the thermostat housing studs with releasing fluid and get yourself a new one and the necessary gaskets.

Check that it is in fact overheating. If you are only going off the gauge, the gauge itself (or some part of that system) may well be faulty.
