I have a Mk3 with 11 slat grille. It was all bent so changed for another one. All going great..

But the top moustache rail used to almost touch the moustache ends on the old one, the new one there is a inch difference.

I have fitted it now but it's super tight and actually touches both headlights. So if it rattles about I will have to do something about it.

Question, are grilles different lengths as well as different styles? Everything non-mk1. Thanks

Only MK1 had the Moustache part.

which part are you on about? The part on the bonnet?  There is adjustment in the ā€œCā€ ends.

Yes this is the top rail on the bonnet. I can't adjust the C ends any more without shortening the grill slats.

The top 'moustache' rail should be the same width as the bonnet. The grilles were all the same size Mk2/3 onwards.

Do you perhaps have cheap pattern copy grille from an unknown supplier? There are lots of poorly fitting copy Mini parts for sale online....

Once it is all mounted up you will not see that much of a gap.

How's it compare in other spots?

The angle of the bottom ends of the side finishers wouldn't have to be far out & then the the curve of the grille itself. Fitting it up on the car may be the best way.

Well it's a old second hand grille so that's a good point, maybe it's a old non genuine one.

I've got it all fitted now but it is just all round bigger - both longer and higher!

Will take a before and after photo for interest
